Around 6pm tonight I stopped at the pond for 5 minutes and saw the Lewin's for about 5 seconds in the gap between the two reed types opposite the southern platform, which I have been told are Common Reed (Phragmites australis - the coarse one on the right) and Giant Rush (Juncus ingens - the finer one of the left). The water level is slowly dropping again, with mud flats starting to appear at the north east corner.
