And if you don't have this phrase in your birdspeak repertoire yet perhaps
you'd like to add it: "From jackass to mopoke" (also "from jackass to
jackass"), according to the Macquarie Dictionary predictably means "from dawn
to dusk". In case you didn't know, a jackass is apparently a Grey Butcherbird,
and since we have what sounds like thousands around at the moment, the phrase
was very apt yesterday!
