Hi all,

Thanks to great directions by Peter Marsh, and a very early start, I arrived at
the Burrill Lake area just after 5 a.m. today 31st December.

Two hours later, when the light was better, I found the 4 geese skulking behind
a grassy area at the far side of the wetlands, (looking South East from the
lookout area). They wandered about for approx 20 minutes, before settling down
again close to the fence near a solitary tree.

The elevated lookout area next to the sign "Meadowlake Lodge", gives excellant
views of the wetlands, but as the birds were at least 150 metres away, a scope
is required.

Two other observers arrived just in time to view the birds through the scope,
before they flew off to the North.

We waited until 9 a.m. but they did not show again.

Regards

Jim O'Shea
