The State Library in Brisbane has a display of bird-related materials.
Rare early illustrations, historical documents, artworks and exquisite
bird plumage are brought together in this exhibition which captures our
fascination with Australian bird life, from the 19th century through to
today. Treasures in the exhibition include volumes from John Gould's
Birds of Australia (1840-1848), paintings and photographs of many
Queensland native birds, a 19th century glass bird dome case, bird and
egg specimens and contemporary artists' books. The exhibition runs from
Dec 8 - 9 Mar

Join curator Nancy Underhill and Robert Mahoney, from Birds Queensland,
as they discuss the treasures and birds on display. Fri 11 Jan,
