last week while driving up bucketts way between stroud and gloucester I found a 
freshly road-killed kookaburra (still warm), with it's live mate sitting beside 
it. I removed the dead bird off the road to avoid it's mate sharing the same 
fate.Many years ago near gloucester I witnessed the same thing with 
dollarbirds, it's a sight that never fails to upset me.
