Hi John
I use a Manfrotto soft, padded carry case. Tripods are pretty sturdy
(if you have a good quality one that is) so i find this is all that
is needed. I usually pack my monopod in there as well and sometimes a
jumper to fill it up a bit.
check out http://www.manfrotto.com.au
Basically alot less weight and bulk than a hard case. In fact i don't
know if you can get hard cases for tripods.
Hope that is some help.
Cheers
Dave

G'day
er....can I slightly amend my question please. I meant to say in
the 'hold of an aircraft'-what cases are available that I can put
my tripod in when it travels in the hold of an aircraft?

G'day
Does anyone know about tripod cases that will offer protection
while my tripod is in the hold?
