Channel-billed Cuckoos were once a rare sight in Sydney. They have become much more common in recent years. I now hear them several times a week around Sydney's inner west. There was a CBC calling in our street at dawn this morning - a call I wasn't familiar with - somewhat reminiscent of a glossy-black cockatoo . CBCs occur well south of Sydney. The southern limit is (or was) roughly Bega I believe. Andrew |
