Juvenile Magpie Lark

During a storm last week, a tree came down in our yard which had a
magpie-lark nest. We managed to save the nest and found a newborn bird in
it - we think only born that day. The other three eggs were still there.

We've been watching it carefully all week - the young bird has been doing
well, is getting more and more feathers every day. Nothing has happened
with the other three eggs but they are still in the nest.

The tree is a big one and is being removed early next week. So today, we
relocated the nest (by cutting the branch that it was on) and carefully
placed it in a protected area but still near the tree for now. We then left
it to see what would happen - both parent birds came back and fed the young
bird.

However, this evening, both adult birds have disappeared so we now have a
cold and hungry little bird on our hands.

Any advice?

Sarah
