Meryl,
my husband and I had a similar experience while walking around a swamp at
Lake Towerinning, about 45kms South West of Arthur River along the Boyup
Brook Arthur River Road. (In WA.) We thought it was an alarm of some sort,
but there was no reason for an alarm to be out there! We kept searching
for the sound, and eventually found that it was coming from a bird that I
believe to be a Restless Flycatcher. It looks very similar to a Willie
Wagtail, but there was no white eyebrow. I have photos of it,but when I
went back the next day to video it,it was nowhere to be found. I thought
it was probably telling us off for being there!
