Mobile phone bird

While wandering around some swamps near Albany, we heard a bird in the reeds
that sounded very much like an electronic telephone's ring.  Has anyone
heard a call like this before?

Unfortunately my digital recorder was out of batteries, so I couldn't record
the sound for posterity.
