Tony,

That is an easy one:
Only until A> It dies or
B> It is recaught, and even maybe
C> It manages somehow to get back to its natural range.

However, if the animal breeds with another one that has escaped in a non 
natural environment, then the offspring and any resulting population thus 
established are ferals or introduced but not escapers.
