There is an annual influx of Striated Pardalotes to the Clarence Valley,
North Coast NSW during the autumn, sometimes including the Tasmanian
yellow-tipped form, with flocks sometimes exceeding 40 birds. Our usual
form is the Black-headed Pardalote with some Black-headed X Striated
Pardalote intergrades. I don't know whether this co-incides with the
Victorian lack of Striateds but it would be interesting to know. In company
with the Striated Pards we also get numbers of Spotteds. It is not known
whether theses are birds from the higher altitudes on the North Coast or
whether they are latitudinal migrants (? from southern NSW/Vic).
