As a beginner I can't say I can tell their calls apart with 100% certainty. As
I understand it, Little Ravens occasionally trail off like Australian Ravens
do, but that ARs have a higher pitched voice.
Around Altona I occasionally hear a trailing call, but not high pitched.
But in the last couple of weeks I've heard it a few times, and a few days ago
one sounded high as well. I rarely see them calling when not flying, and I
don't have the skills to tell them apart any other way.

Subject: Australian Raven in Altona, Melbourne
Hi all,
Don't know if this is a significant sighting or not. I've been living in
Altona for over six months now, and this morning saw my first Australian
Raven for the area. I initially picked it as different from the common
Little Raven on size and behavior and then it gave a very definitive call to
seal the ID.
Would those in the know please let me know if I've just missed them til now
or is this an unusual sighting for suburban Melbourne?
Regards,
Chris
