I recently was loaned a copy of the Emu Vol 1918 -1919. There is a discussion on Bird Names in this. Not exactly like the current on on B_A but an indication that this topic is not new and will probably continue while birds and people exist. The discussion, in places is interesting, but will solve nothing.
