Hi there birders,

I've just returned from my morning walk.

I saw an Australian Hobby sitting on a dead branch almost as if it was posing for my camera. It must have known that I'd left the camera home!

The name "hobby" got me thinking. Why the name "hobby" - surely the alternative "Little Falcon" is a far more suitable and descriptive name?
