Right. That settles it. I'm going to have to visit Port Arthur! Cheers, MickPS. I've put photos of the oystercatchers up on my website (www.wildlifing.com) as well as some other photos including photos I took at a Healesville Sanctuary flightshow a few months ago. The Barking Owl was amazing- worth the price of admission on its own. ____________ Michael Todd Wildlifing- Images of Nature- www.wildlifing.com Ranelagh, Tasmania Latest Additions: Healesville Sanctuary Flightshow Mobile: o41o 123715 Philip Veerman wrote: I was going to write exactly the same thing. The only time I have seen Pied Oystercatchers feeding in lawns was on the grounds in front of the old Penitentiary, Port Arthur, Tasmania. This was in June 2003, on the only day I have been to that site, (apart from in 1970, of which I don't remember anything about the birds there).Philip |
