A second hand report of a big flock (~1 000 birds) of Magpie Geese at Levy's Point wetland, 4 km west of Warrnambool in far south west coastal Victoria. The Warrnambool Standard newspaper (7 May edition) had a brief story on the flock plus a good photo. It appears the Victorian population of this species is currently quite localised with most birds now in western Victoria. I encourage all birdos who make any sightings of Magpie Geese in Victoria to pass the observation details onto me. cheers, Martin Martin O'Brien Department of Sustainability and Environment 2/8 Nicholson St. (PO Box 500), East Melbourne 3002 VICTORIA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ =============================== www.birding-aus.org birding-aus.blogspot.com To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: =============================== |
