Nine Cotton Pygmy-geese (or is that Cotton Pygmy-Gooses?) were seen on Sunday 6th May by myself
along with Paul Walbridge and Gary (a visiting birder from Scotland) on a body of water near Norma
Crocker Park in Durack, a suburb of Brisbane, Queensland.
The location of the 'water-hole' can be found at J3 on Map 219 of the Brisbane UBD Refidex street
directory.
Norma Crocker Park is actually in the adjoining suburb of Acia Ridge but access to the water-hole
can be achieved by turning off Beatty Road just south of the Oxley Creek bridge.
Perhaps there is another way to get to the water from Norma Crocker Park but we
didn't try for that.
Please note that this is not the most salubrious spot on this planet as it is used by trail-bike
riders and people who can't be bothered to take their rubbish to the official dump.
Don't try to drive any further than the open area just off the road. It is a very short walk from
there to the water-hole.
Cheers
