[] recently ive noticed an alexandrine parrot that appears to be living in
the wild , ive noticed it over probably a six month period .
[] have others seen similar parrots ? and are they breeding ?
a young man I know has told me he has a "family" visiting his bird feeder
for sunflower seed. Ive not seen pictures , nor the birds but this recent
sighting caused me to wonder .
I do remember from keeping pet birds years ago that hand reared birds, upon
re release with there parents in an aviary quickly dropped any hint of
tameness , and took up "wild" characteristics , unlike say lorikeets and
rosellas and other aussie parrots , which would stay "silly tame"
Any way id be interested to hear if there are any records or reports , ive
noticed a few from time to time that are likely escapees, but are any
successful ?
Cheers ian
