Hi Eric,I carry out colour-banding of Ospreys on the New South Wales north coast. Ospreys anywhere in Victoria are interesting. They may have originated in northern New South Wales or South Australia. A banded Osprey from the north coast was observed at Lake Tabourie, on the south Coast of New South Wales last year so birds reaching Victoria may be banded. If you see them again it would be worth checking their legs for colour bands. I take it that you are familiar with Ospreys and that they were not young Sea-Eagles as two together in Victoria is quite remarkable. There was, however, a report of one recently. Greg Clancy |
