The problemm as I see it, is that while ecologically a twitch in which no
one left their garden would save the environment, a lot of us would see only
Noisy Miners and Crows (or their local equivalent) and so few would bother
to participate and it would raise very little money.
Since a massive die-off is highly likely, save birds while you can and don't
worry about using a bit of petrol. I doubt if you can use more petrol in
your life time than can be used by one carrier flight off an air craft
carrier in the Gulf, let alone if they proceed to a full scale war.
