Dear Duan Ulva Island off of Stewart Island was great for birds- saw a kiwi not far along track from getting off of the boat, feeding in the undergrowth and I would also recommend the kiwi trip wchich leaves from wharf at Stewart Island. Ulva island also produced red browed parakeet and the otehr large parrot the kaka-in general a great place to go-you will love the wekas and although there are not many species of birds they are not frightened of people, so you get close views, for example riflemen running over you!
