Many years ago a Southern Boobook regularly roosted in a Canary Island Date Palm at Observatory Hill, adjacent to the southern approach to the Sydney Harbour Bridge. John Disney used to see one roosting in Hyde Park as he walked to his workplace at the Australian Museum at about the same time (1970's).
