Many years ago a Southern Boobook regularly roosted in a Canary Island Date
Palm at Observatory Hill, adjacent to the southern approach to the Sydney
Harbour Bridge. John Disney used to see one roosting in Hyde Park as he
walked to his workplace at the Australian Museum at about the same time
(1970's).
