A flock of about 30 White-throated Needletails was riding the updraft of a strong south-easter at Bolton Point, edge of Lake Macquarie. They were there for at least 2 hours from midday in clear skies. They have gone down as a yard bird now in my records with some of them skimming across the lawn at head height- very impressive!
