Hi folks and Happy New Year

We had planned to spend a few days down the Bellarine
area and Great Ocean Rd but it didn't work out as
planned.

In spite of dry conditions "everywhere" and fickle
weather I am keen to get out and do some birding (bird
photography) this week whilst the other half has time
off.

So I am after recommendations of places to visit that
might be more rewarding than others. Probably day
trips as opposed to overnighters due to it being a
tricky time to be finding accomodation.

Has anyone been to the Brisbane Ranges or You Yangs
recently and if so what has it been like? Those are
two places I have never checked out (You Yangs just
briefly previously).

I am not a twitcher nor do I keep very good lists - I
am keen on good views (??) of anything really that
isnt too common to suburban Melbourne.

Thanks in advance.

Cheryl
