There is currently a pair of Black Honeyeaters present in Mulligans Flat
Nature Reserve adjacent to the northern suburbs of Canberra. The birds were
first seen by my brother on Tuesday 28 November and confirmed by me on
Saturday 2 December. Another birder saw them yesterday.

I believe this is only the second ever record for the ACT and a sign of how
bad this drought really is.

Other interesting birds in the reserve at present are nesting White-browed
Woodswallows (60 originally of which about 20 stayed to breed) and
White-winged Trillers (>10), Hooded and Red-capped Robins, Little Lorikeets
(9) and Superb Parrots (>20).

Cheers
