Hi All,
I've known about this species for a while after having been alerted to the
possibility of this species existing by a friend some time ago. At the time
the photographer John Young apparently had some doubts as to whether or not
the bird photographed was in fact a Coxen's Fig Parrot. Now we know that it
is actually a new species. Sadly though it's another species which we must
be concerned about. The plight of this bird would almost certainly be like
that of the Coxen's Fig Parrot.
