Martin,
We have seen King Parrots quite a few times at our house in Glen Waverley,
which is next to Shepherds Bush. I first saw a couple fly over in November
2003 and since then have seen them on the odd occasion. We have had one bird
feeding at the bird feeder this year on a fairly regular basis during the
winter months.
Regards,
Bruce Wedderburn

Subject: King Parrot (Melb. suburbs)
A new species for the home list in inner suburban Melbourne.
Yesterday morning I heard a single Australian King Parrot giving its
powerful call not far from the house in Richmond (near Burnley & Swan
Streets). Most likely an aviary escapee as it was a single bird
'sounding' quite lost.
I've heard of no other reports of the species from nearby locals but am
interested in others experience.
