Which reminds me, I have a very compelling poster regarding the damage our
litter causes to marine life. Its focus is seals but it covers rubbish
such as plastic bags, netting, fishing line and six pack holders. It also
notes that more than 900 seals are killed by entanglements each year.
The poster is funded by various organisations including International Fund for Animal Welfare, RSPCA, Envirofund, Humane Society International etc. It states free information and posters availabe from La Trobe University. It is fairly graphic but VERY effective. Cheers, Karen. And bait plastic bags. Just as deadly to seabirds, penguins and seals. karen. |
