And another thing...
Why do other birds chase pardalotes???? In my neighbourhood, in Sydney's
inner-west, spotted pardalotes are regularly pursued by wattlebirds,
honeyeaters, miners etc. as if they are a pest. Surely a spotted paradalote
presents no threat to a bigger honeyeater! Are the birds annoyed by the
pardalote's call? Is the pardalote seen as a competitor re. available food
sources? What's happening here????
I'd be interested in people's thoughts.
