Dear All
I thought this may be of interest to you all.
The Judith Eardley Save the Wildlife Association and Trust For Nature are
staging a Torch of Concern for Wildlife relay to raise funds for saving the
endangered, Commonwealth Games mascot, Karak the Red-tailed Black Cockatoo.
The relay will start in Healesville and finish at Casterton in SW Victoria.
The torch will contain only one word HELP.
Donvale Christian College is currently hosting the torch. The College's
environmental group is having a number of fundraising activities during this
week. The Judith Eardley Save the Wildlife Association is matching
contributions, dollar for dollar, with the aim of raising enough money to buy
2-3 properties in SW Victoria. Trust For Nature will manage these properties
once they are purchased.
My environmental group would like to encourage any Birding-Aus members to
donate to this worthy fundraiser. Donations of $2 and over are tax deductible.
To receive a tax receipt, a cheque must be made out to Trust For Nature. I
would like any donors to send me their donations so that they can be included
in the College's contribution. For more information me on ph 0409090955.
Cheques can be sent to me c/- Donvale Christian College, 155 Tindals Rd,
Donvale, 3111.
Yours in all things "green"
Regards
John Harris
