I have finally got my first raptor for my office list, it's only taken 18 months. But the big problem is I can't be sure of what it was. I was alerted to its presence by the noisy miners who really didn't seem to quite know what to do with a mixture of aerial warning calls and normal chatter, poor darlings I'm sure they were more than a bit confused.

Anyway it was probably a Crested Hawk / Baza by the flight and longish tail. It did some amazing aerobatics as the ravens mobbed it, they really didn't seem very impressed. They had a better idea of what to do.

And all this in Ashfied, 8 km west of the Sydney CBD. Who said there were no birds here....

Cheers
Graham Turner
