After spending a number of hours over the past several years searching for
Bassian Thrush in the southern Fleurieu Peninsula I finally saw one today
(12/8) in the Mt Billy CP, north of Victor Harbor. Although I have seen them
before around the Mt Lofty summit area they are considered rare in the the
southern portion of the Mt Lofty ranges region. I was rewarded with an
excellent view of the bird perched on a low branch at a distance of 15 m for
at least 2 minutes.
