GHL-how long will it be there?

We plan to head to Barron Junction on the 17th of August.
As we will be travelling from our home on the Mornington Peninsula, 60kms
south of Melbourne, we are anxious about missing the GHL.
In regards to the reverse migration theory, could this mean that the bird may
leave in the next month?
Thanks in advance for any advise,
  Melissa and Scott Falconer
  Tootgarook, Melbourne.
