Judith Hoyle and I saw the ghl at 7.45 am on 11 July on the other side of
the railway line behind the silos - adjacent to the track which turns left
immediately over the railway crossing and due south of the picnic shelter
Had a great trip back to Brisbane after seeing the ghl with 100+ birds
sighted
Highlights included a mixed flock of 250 - 300 zebra and plum headed finches
on the Bunna Bunna - Mallawa rd just north of Moomin Creek and a great view
of a male superb parrot on the Bulyeroi - Bunna Bunna Rd. Both of these
locations are NE of Burren Junction
Also stopped in the box ironbark adjacent to the Cunningham Hwy 60 kms west
of Warwick
Saw 9 species of honey eater at one location feeding on flowering box -
White Eared; Brown; Yellow faced; Brown Headed; White naped; White Plumed;
Fuscous; Spiny cheeked; Noisy friar bird
