Hi All,
Apologies for another Grey-headed Lapwing posting.
As mentioned in an earlier email I am attempting to maintain a list of
everybody who has been to twitch the Grey-headed Lapwing. For one this is
shaping up to be the biggest real twitch in Australian birding history and
thus the total number of visitors is of some interest in the popular
press/on birding-aus etc. More specifically though I am also looking at
generating some measure of the economic benefit to Burren Junction and
places further a-field. To achieve this the number of visitors is an
important starting point.

If you have been, or are going for the bird, it would be great if you could
flick me an email with the date and number of people in your vehicle. If you
know of people off birding-aus that have been I'm similarly interested.
Emails direct to me would be good, unless also updating birding-aus on the
status of the bird. I have no intention of broadcasting individual names so
don?t fear me if you pulled a sickie :)

By my estimates about 60 people have seen the bird so far. That figure is
likely to spike over the weekend, which is pretty amazing given the location
of the bird relative to the nearest capital cities.

Thanks in advance,

Rohan Clarke
