In Sydney my brother-in-law kept Major Mitchell and Little Corellas in an
aviary that was placed on the ground outside their house. Sparrows used to
fly down and try to pick up the spilt seed, sometimes putting their heads
through the wire netting. A quick dash and the head was off! I don't know
if the cockatoos then ate the head but they were very efficient at killing
the sparrows.

Everyone,
Many species of parrot eat insects / grubs and I would imagine a small
mouse
would be the next step up. I can't imagine any 'good' aviculturist feeding
their expensive Gang-gangs mice, and I can't imagine the bird catching and
killing it itself, so my worry would be, what did the mouse die of.....eg
Ratsac.
