My son in-law put a male and female pair of Zebra Finches in with his male
and female pair of Budgies till their cage was repaired. The male budge kept
biting both Finches legs so he had to separate them as he did not want
legless finches.

An interesting twist to the standard rule of not putting finches with
parrots (except Neophemas and budgies) in aviaries, as most parrots like to
bite finches legs off, but his is through aggression rather than nutrition.
