Hi
Bird seen today by Jann & myself in Burren Junction.
First sighted at 3.00pm in the drain on the north side of the road about 1-200m
to the west of the grain silo referred to in earlier EMails. The drain is quite
shallow and the grass not long, but we were lucky to spot the bird - it was the
third time we had driven past.
The bird is very wary, and as I was attempting a picture through the car window
it flew a few hundred metres north (over a chain link enclosure) where we found
it again about 3.30pm in tussocky grass near a slimy green pond. This time it
flew east with a large flock of Galahs towards the Hastings St site also
mentioned earlier but we were unably to relocate it.
Of interest also is a pond on the south side of the road (almost behind the
silo) where there are hundreds of ducks, mainly Wood, Plumed Whistlers & Grey
Teal.
Good Luck
Ross
