And I've been known to drive 70km in order to show somebody the windfarm
at Starfish Hill in South OZ. If there were more of them maybe I
wouldn't have to drive so far.

I think we do have to get it right as regards design and siting to make
sure that wind farms don't kill large numbers of birds, and aren't built
on sites that are of ecological importance. Ditto noise pollution.

However I agree with the British commentator who pointed out that the
sort of people who object to windfarms on aesthetic grounds are the sort
of people who are likely to get in their cars and drive 50 miles to see
a historical windmill, or go on a 'Tulip and Windmills' coach-trip
around the (wholly artificial) low-lying areas of the Netherlands.
