Hi Birders,

Sean Dooley, author of the (in) famous and very enjoyable book about twitching, "The big Twitch", will be in Sydney for the Writers Festival in late May 2006, and will be the guest speaker at the regular meeting of the Central Coast Group of Birding NSW on Tuesday 23rd May 2006.

Originally during the "Big Twitch" in 2002 , Sean was coming to twitch the Regent Honeyeater and the Swift Parrot on the Central Coast as there were both here in good numbers at the time, but fortunately for him but not for us, he ran into those birds prior to reaching us and so altered his route accordingly! So we are all looking forward to meeting him in the flesh ( many of us ofcourse saw him on TV recently talking about Orange-bellied Parrots and Windfarms, which he did in a very competent way).

Any other birders living in the general area are very welcome to join us on the night. The Meeting is held at the Tuggerah Progress Hall, Anzac St, Tuggerah (opposite McDonalds!). The cost is $2 per person, to cover hall hire.

Alan Morris
