G'day Graham and all
I resolved the first issue in the 1970's. I
became a vegan and I don't wear cosmetics or use anything with animal products
or by-products in it (with the one exception of my waterproof
leather hiking boots). I could never support such an industry as fishing.
I'm not sure where the risk to the lives of fisherman comes into
it.
The second one is more difficult because the use
of fossil fuel is totally insidious. I continually write to our
pollies belabouring the point that we should be adopting alternative,
renewable energy sources. I hope that others on this list might do the same
now and again. It's pretty hard to do much more than that, other than cut
down the use of fossil fuels as much as I can (and I do) and plant trees
frequently.
Therefore, I'd hardly rate myself as a supporter
of these industries.
