I hope the book title was a spell checker mistake otherwise people could get
offended!
Wow are you driving to see a bird or start a fight? You, along with myself,
must one of the very few members of the birdos that are fans of punk. (Even
scarier the choice of Sigur Ros as a relaxant which is a definite favourite
at the moment).
Anyway I don't specifically listen to any music when going birdwatching - it
usually depends on the company. One friend had one tape in his vehicle on
long trips and there is only so many listens to Enya that anyone can stand,
so usually the radio is the safe option. Formerly Triple J, but now I am
closer to 40 than 30, local ABC usually does the trick.
Cheers,
Peter

Reading through Sean's book, The Big Twit, and his reference to music he
listens to on birding trips, got me thinking: just what do other people
listen to on the way to, and back from, a twitch? I personally like to
listen to the Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Saints, The Gun Club, Husker du
and of course the Dead Kennedys. Very early late '70s-early '80s, but it
keeps one sharp. If I score the twitch, I'll drive back euphorically to
Sigur Ros, anything else from Iceland, Not Drowning Waving, or even Mozart.
If I dip, well, it's Joy Division, The Cure or Beethoven. Anyone else
got any favourites? What do you reckon Andrew Stafford?
Cheers,
Geoff.
