has an article today reporting on a proposal that Melbourne and Geelong docks be relocated to Point WIlson - "a site
with internationally recognised wetlands, home to the endangered
orange-bellied parrot", to quote the article. The main proponent - the Geelong Football Club president (!) says ""It would be cheaper to run channels from the heads coming into
there rather than going right through to Port Melbourne and not
upset all the environmentalists with the dredging.": Looks like another battle could be looming, although there doesn't seem to be too much support for the proposal yet.... |
