Gooday all,
We have a similar problem to Yule Point here at Bowen Qld. with sightings of Beach Stone-curlews on a proposed Marina site that has laid dorment for years after an initial development went belly up. Mangroves are now regenerating after being cleared years ago but interest has again risen in having the project finalised by an alternative Developer.
Yesterday I completed a National Summer Wader Count of the area and observed 3 adult birds at the site. On previous counts over recent months I have observed a single bird in the vicinity.
