Hi Birders,

A fellow birder has told me of a pair of Cuckoo- shrikes that nested very close to her balcony. She felt privileged as she was able to watch them build a beautiful nest and then rear three young. However, soon after the young fledged the adults destroyed the nest, piece by piece.

I would be interested to know if this is usual for Cuckoo-shrikes and if so why they would do this.

Opinions on this would be appreciated.
