Fork-tailed Swifts

Michael Atzeni alerted me this-morning to 'a big influx' of Fork-tailed
Swifts over Toowoomba. He saw them over his home on the eastern side of
town, right through to his place of work on the western side.

Soon after, between 10am and 10.30am, we had hundreds of Fork-tails going
over Abberton (about 20km east of Toowoomba), all heading eastwards. Great,
close views over the creek and verandah. Very hard to estimate numbers,
because they were patchy at times, and more numerous at others, as well as
being widely spread to the north, south, east and west.

I can only say hundreds, all heading eastwards.

None here by 10.40am.
