Hi

Friday 30th mid am and a large flock (~200) of White-throated Needletails
was over Bolton Point (Lake Macquarie). There must have been an insect
hatching as all of the local Dollar Birds (at least 10) were up there with
the swifts. Mike T, how fast do these WTNs fly? they were coming into the
area from the north east at great speed as though the word had spread that
there was a feed to be had!

New Years Day and at Sydney Harbour there was a Black Falcon flying into the
hot westerly from over McMahons Point, across Balls Head Reserve and out of
view towards Berry Island. I was lucky enough to be in a high-rise well
above the bird so got a good long look.

Happy 06 birding

Cheers

Colin Driscoll
