Don't know about black wings, but some years ago I heard about a Superb Fairy-Wren livng in that sanctuary that the fellow with the catskin hat used to run near Adelaide. This wren had completely black underparts. The theory was that this was age related and that the absence of feral predators allowed this wren to get old enough to develop the extra black, whereas most don't live long enough.
