Also on Sunday 25th September, an Olive-backed Oriole calling from riverside vegetation close to the freeway bridge over the Yarra, downstream of Fairfield Park boathouse.

Any other sightings of these birds in inner Melbourne this year?

Only quite close to your record Neville.  About a week before, Olive-backed Oriole calling from woodland near the Chandlers Highway bridge - upstream from Fairfield boat house a bit.
